Smart Dustbin Application
The Smart Dustbin Application is an IoT-based automation project designed to promote hygiene and convenience through touch-free waste disposal. Using an Arduino microcontroller, an ultrasonic sensor continuously detects the presence of a hand or object near the bin and automatically opens the lid using a servo motor. Once the waste is disposed of and the area is clear, the lid closes automatically after a short delay, helping maintain cleanliness and reducing the spread of germs. The project introduces students to key STEM and IoT concepts such as sensors, distance measurement, servo motor control, automation logic, and real-world smart device development. It demonstrates how technology can be used to create practical solutions for everyday challenges while enhancing user comfort and hygiene.
